Impact Card is still an early company, which means the next few hires matter more than almost anything else we do. Right now, we're looking for a Head of Product to join the founding team and help take our platform from a working MVP to something universities can rely on every single day.
If you've ever wanted to build something from the ground up rather than inherit someone else's roadmap, this is that kind of role.
Universities sit at the center of their communities, yet very little of the everyday spending happening around them, game weekends, downtown dinners, alumni purchases, ever makes its way back to the institution. Impact Card is the financial layer that changes that: a card and rewards platform built around a university, giving that institution real revenue from spending that was already happening anyway, and giving fans, alumni, and families a way to support the school they love without writing another check.
We have a signed flagship launch partner, a seed round in motion, and a clear technical roadmap, including a strategic acquisition that already has us at MVP. What we need next is someone who can turn all of that into a shipped, working product, someone who is just as comfortable in a planning meeting as they are diagnosing a broken integration late at night.
This is a builder's product role, not a traditional roadmap and hand off seat. Whoever takes this on will own product strategy and priorities, but will also be hands on in the code and the systems themselves. At this stage, things will break. This person is who the team relies on to fix them.
There's also a clear, intentional path from this role into a CTO level position as the team and platform scale. We're looking for someone who wants to build long term, not just ship a roadmap and move on.
The right person has real zero to one experience, has shipped product in a fast moving early stage environment, and is comfortable being the one who resolves issues when systems break, including outside normal business hours. Strong technical fluency across modern web stacks matters here, because this role opens the codebase as often as it opens a roadmap document.
A background in fintech, payments, or higher education is a real plus, though not required. What matters most is a builder's mindset: someone energized by ambiguity rather than paralyzed by it, low ego, high accountability, and outcomes first.
If this sounds like the kind of role you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you. You can view the full job description and apply directly on LinkedIn.
